Charity Work

The M. J. Doshi Charitable Trust was formed in the early 1950s. Later in the 1970s the C. M. Doshi Charitable Trust was formed. Pappa was always there whenever any of the extended family needed financial help. He also gave generously to family members in India who were in need of assistance. Whenever money was collected for a Deraser in E. Africa Pappa donated generously but without publicity. Mahavir Sadharmik Kendra was started later so no name appeared on donations.

Pappa was instrumental in getting the ball rolling for a Deraser in Mombasa. The organisers requested to Pappa that he should do the opening ceremony as the project was his idea and he had contributed a lot. Pappa declined and suggested that they could raise more money by doing “ghee bol” for that ceremony. In the end Devraj Karamshi donated 43,000sh and did the opening ceremony.
